Suffering exists in Government Ran Health Care.
Waynes Discernment - February 26, 2010 - 2:44pmDoes anybody really believe that a system ran by the Government would be free of suffering. That a nurse provided by the Government is going to be kinder and provide better comfort than a nurse selected by the one in need of a nurse.
I pray for those in need; My heart also goes out to those who have care provided by the Government and remain tragically more in need. I know that God is aware of every tear. My chest grows tight as I put this post together because I know these people matter to God and to somebody else.
I've been to both DMV and when possible alternative private businesses for services of registering a car. Although not broken by the my experiences with the DMV I can image those people running a hospital but in some cases I don't need to imagine.
An independent inquiry found that managers at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust stopped providing safe care because they were preoccupied with government targets and cutting costs. Patients were routinely neglected or left “sobbing and humiliated” by staff.
Should I go on?
The report, which follows reviews by the Care Quality Commission and the Department of Health, said that “unimaginable” suffering had been caused. Regulators said last year that between 400 and 1,200 more patients than expected may have died at the hospital from 2005 to 2008.

BREAKING! Council Votes Against Famed Hens
Rev. Austin Miles - February 10, 2010 - 1:02pmTheir goose is cooked. Henny and Penny learned last night that The Brentwood City Council voted against them staying in their home. The famed hens did not attend the meeting. The final vote by Erick Stonebarger, who was absent during the Janurary 26th hearing which ended in a tie, sealed the fate of the chickens, not only them, but the fate of all chickens. Ms. X the neighbor who first complained actually was there and emphased that "chickens poop 1000 times a day (?) and if one had three chickens, that adds up to 3000 pounds of chicken poop each and every day which is not acceptable in good neighborhoods," saith she. 3000 pounds is a lot of ...ah never mind! A last ditch effort to prevent eviction of the hens is below....

Is It Over? 2009? Really? MilesTones Take
Rev. Austin Miles - January 4, 2010 - 3:55amIs It Over? 2009? Really? MilesTonesTake
By Rev. Austin Miles
Today, I finally stuck my head out of the covers to make sure. It is no longer 2009? Phew! What a strange year! A family in New Bedford, Massachusetts returned a library book that they had borrowed and kept for 99 years after the due date. The title? “Facts I Ought to Know about the Government of My Country.” So it was a book about how to understand how our government works. The borrower probably spent the whole 99 years re-reading it and still couldn’t figure out how the government works. D.C. Congressmen and Senators seem to have the same problem….Much more coming including a notable quip about the Tiger (obviously not made out of) Wood and the quip was made at a Senior Citizen’s Bible Class of all places!

Minister's Heroic Stand For Integrity
Rev. Austin Miles - December 7, 2009 - 3:47amEvery man seems to have a price. This writer is constantly amazed at how cheap one can buy a man or woman's integrity. That is, except for Rev. John Anderson, who runs the Bay Area Rescue Mission in Richmond, a homeless shelter with 325 beds. His is a compassionate ministry which provides for the needs of the downtrodden. With case loads increasing due to the economic crisis, the mission is constantly in need of funds. Not enough, however, for Rev. Anderson to sell his integrity.
Richmond is known the world over as a city of constant violence, crime, and murder. It was the scene of the recent gang rape of a 15 year old girl who had gone to a high school dance. One of those who took part was a 13 year old boy.
Richmond's problems can be solved, said the Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians to the board of supervisors, by building an Indian casino at Point Molate. This will give the city a new look, generate income for the city as well as providing employment in the community which will reduce crime.
A tidal wave of opposition slowed the procedure until the tribe met again with supervisors and gave them specific figures about how much the city-the county and the state would be given each year, in the millions, which would pay for improvements, security etc. To deal with their opponents, they also promised huge amounts of money each year if the measure passed, and this included charity organizations like Rev. Anderson's Bay Area Rescue Mission. read more »

Black Thursday in America
Rev. Austin Miles - November 7, 2009 - 5:57pmThursday November 5, 2009 will stand out as Black Thursday in America. All are aware of the massacre at Ft. Hood, Texas, committed by a trusted "moderate" Muslim. Much more happened on that day. Let's begin with happenings in the East Bay of California and the violence at East Bay Public Schools;
Last Thursday is a day that should never have happened. Ft. Hood stands out. However, violence was taking place in East Bay schools. At Edna Hill grammar school in Brentwood, two 7th graders punched a pregnant teacher who had tried to break up a dispute between them. Instead they turned on the teacher and beat her. This has not been reported by the liberal news media. Not a line, even though the teacher was one month away from giving birth to her child. We do not know her condition or the condition of her unborn baby.
As for the 7th graders, they are a direct product of our government run public school system, where students are taught that there are no absolutes...no right or wrong..whatever is right for you is right. They are falsely taught the Darwin deception that we all evolved from apes, chimpanzees and lower creatures, meaning that their lives were an accident in time and that there is no meanting to their lives, so what's the use? Do what you want and take what you want. There are no rules. read more »

Digital Destruction
sevens - October 27, 2009 - 7:04pmDigital Destruction
The evening news and American pop culture cinema, what do they have in common? They both are sensationalistic, disturbing, and more appropriately, not for children. The last movie I saw, through the spaces of my fingers that is, was The Last House on the Left. My brother talked me into going and restrained me several times from leaving, it was too violent and explicit. In the beginning of the film a young girl was violently raped, you could see it coming like a slow motion car wreck. The young lady in the movie portrayed an underage beauty, the camera panned her entire figure as she playfully joked around with her girlfriend, her clothes dangling off her fully developed body.
They accentuated her sexuality, clothing it will juvenile naivety.; it was enough to make the old men feel like perverts and the young ones shamefully not look away as she was assaulted. The victim's girlfriend tried to stop the rape and was violently impaled by the thrust of a giant hunting knife, she took an agonizingly long time to die, it truly rattled me, I had to keep telling myself that it was just a movie. I think it was this movie that motivated me to vow not to let my daughter watch anything more controversial than the animal channel. read more »

Last Roar of the Lion
Rev. Austin Miles - September 5, 2009 - 6:52pmThe Lion of the Senate was lionized by worshipers, politicians, the legal profession and the media after his roar was silenced on August 25th. Everyone expected this as Ted Kennedy had been in a fierce battle with a brain tumor which he fought valiantly. And this writer waited until a respectable time of mourning had taken place before making a comment.
Every life is valuable to God and there were some solid accomplishments during Ted's lifetime. One which especially stands out is the "Americans with Disabilities" act which, through his work, was made into law in 1990.
The funeral service was spectacular and well organized in the beautiful Catholic Church in Boston even though Kennedy, in his public and personal life, violated almost every tenet of the catholic faith. And this lack of respect for the church continued on by his family in the funeral service itself. read more »

I'm From the Government, and I'm Here to Help
Drew McKissick - August 21, 2009 - 9:23amDespite all the ruckus concerning town-halls lately, most of which is the ruckus made by liberals upset that conservatives are attending and expressing their opposition to Obamacare, we have been treated to some important, if accidental, moments of honesty and clarity.
For example, while conducting a recent town-hall meeting, Missouri Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill attempted to calm constituents upset over the proposed “reform” by asking “Don’t you trust me?” The resounding “no"s reverberated throughout the room, along with many boos, which provides us with our moment of honesty. read more »
Save America, Make Schools Obey The Law
Since 1980 it has been legal to teach the Bible in public schools based on the Supreme Court decision Stone v. Graham. The best way would be to teach it in all grades, so kids would learn truth before they grow old enough to drop out or do major crimes. But schools have been dragging their feet. In Clatskanie Oregon, superintendant Ed Serra said it would have to come down from Washington before he'd have the Bible taught and school board chair Stuart Hass said he wouldn't go there because there has been too much controversy in the past.
What we need is a nation wide effort to go to school board meetings and demand they obey current law of the land instead of the obsolete decisions made from 1947 through the 1960's. Any and all effort might help -- individual requests to teams of legislators going from district meeting to district meeting to lawsuits. Jay Sekulow and others stand ready to defend Christians in school lawsuits. read more »
