From Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC)
Rev Wm Jenkins - November 17, 2009 - 8:04pmNovember 17, 2009 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, made the following statement:
"Let's be clear: Any senator who votes to proceed to this bill is voting for a government takeover of health care. Senators who hide behind procedure and claim they just want to allow for debate are not being honest, they are trying to deceive their voters while helping to pass this terrible bill that will make health care more expensive.
"Earlier today, Democrat leaders told reporters that the Senate may vote to proceed to a shell bill, not related to health care reform, in an effort to grant the President's wish for a government takeover of our nation's health care by Christmas. These outrageous shell games won't fool Americans. Voters will remember who stands up for their freedom and who stands with the special interests who want to ram through this takeover."
"President Obama and Democrats have now put forward at least four different versions of their government takeover, and Harry Reid has been secretly working behind closed doors on the fifth act of this fiasco. But despite the nuances, every Democrat bill puts Washington in control of health care, slashes Medicare coverage for seniors, raises premiums for families, raises taxes, places bureaucrats between patients and doctors, punishes young adults who choose not to buy coverage, and opens the door to government rationing of care. read more »

We must do more
rstevens212 - October 5, 2009 - 1:20pmIt is not enough to contact the blue dog Democrats. This will only result in a scaled-back bill, which leads us toward socialized medicine a little more incrementally. Remember, the bills under discussion give huge authority to government bureaucrats to pass regulations. So even if the "public option" and health care rationing are explicitly in the bill, they will be put into regulations, with the same result.
It is essential that we defeat ANY bill. The only way to do that is to make it absolutely clear to our representatives that they will be voted out of office if they support it. There is a good, simple website where we can individually pledge to vote out anyone who does not fight against these bills: www.PledgeOfLiberty.com I urge you to take the pledge, and spread the word, and also to write to your representatives.

ObamaCare? NO!
Rev Wm Jenkins - October 3, 2009 - 5:40pmThe Baucus healthcare reform plan is chock-full of provisions calling for new government mandates, higher taxes, increased spending and government-dictated, rationed health care.
In fact, it's so bad that Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl said of Baucus' plan: "This is a stunning assault on liberty!"
As previously stated, the Baucus bill hasn't even been written yet, much less read by the Senators who are doing the negotiating.
It's nothing more than a 200-plus-page shell of ideas to be rammed down the throats of the American people with all deliberate speed... before you and other concerned Americans have the time to find out what hit you.
Senator Lindsay Graham, speaking on FOX News, probably gave the best explanation of what exactly is going on: "[T]he Baucus bill... literally changes everyday... we're making this up as we go... they're trying to buy votes... the vision here is to pass something... they don't give a damn what it is and nobody understands what they're doing."
These so-called leaders just don't get it. Republicans and Democrats are quibbling over what type of government-run health care they believe to be best for you and your family and no one is fighting for the American people.
The words is out... the game is played... the man behind the curtain has been exposed... and it's now as plain as the nose on your face. Obama and the leftists in Congress don't want you to know what's in ObamaCare... they just made it clear that they just may try to hide all the sordid details from you. read more »

Obama proposes cuts in Medicare - no howls of protest
Capitol Notebook - July 24, 2009 - 4:05pmI came across this article in the Wall Street Journal about Obama's Congressional Budget Office Director, Peter Orszag, and how he's basically becoming one of the key point men to help "sell" Obamacare, since everyone (including many Democrats) wants to know where the money is coming from.
Understandable enough. But that wasn't what was interesting.
What jumped out at me was this sentence:
...he sent a letter to Capitol Hill detailing a proposal he had been more quietly pitching for weeks -- creating a new agency with power to cut spending and implement changes in Medicare, the giant health program for the elderly. He also attached proposed legislative language. It was the most specific that the White House, which has tried to articulate principles and leave details to lawmakers, has been on any aspect of the legislation.
OK, now how many of you out there can just imagine the howls of protest we would be hearing from Democrats if something like this had been proposed by the Bush administration - or any Republican. read more »
