War on Terror

Is the Democrat Party getting ready to surrender yet another American ally to our enemies?  There are signs that this could be the case.  In today's "The Washington Times," a front-page story has the headline:  "Will Army brass get day in Congress?"  The article says that the Republicans in Congress are eager to help Obama's generals in the Pentagon receive a troop surge in Afghanistan which the generals need to successfully win the war.   

The question of the year is, will the president listen to his generals and give them the extra troops needed for victory in Afghanistan?  Obama's hero, Republican President Abraham Lincoln, listened to his generals, especially Ulysses S. Grant, and won the Civil War.   

Considering the track record of the anti-war majority faction in the Democrat Party, victory against our enemies in Afghanistan does not look promising.  The anti-war Democrat majority in the early 1970's forced a surrender to America's communist enemies in South Vietnam.  This same anti-war faction almost caused America to surrender in Iraq just a few years ago, but President George W. Bush listened to his generals and gave them the troop "surge" they requested and the war in Iraq has been won.    read more »

In an attempt to change the topic from Barack Obama's budget-breaking health care bill which the overwhelming majority of Americans are repulsed by, Obama's thoroughly discredited Attorney General, Eric Holder, changed the subject to supposed CIA abuse during the Bush administration.   

Eric Holder was the guy who actually persuaded Bill Clinton - as one of his final dastardly acts as president in 2001 - to pardon one of the most corrupt individuals in American history, Marc Rich.  Rich was indicted on federal charges of illegally making oil deals with Iran, even while America was trying to get our hostages released in the late 1970's.  In addition, Rich was indicted on tax evasion.  Yet, to its discredit, the Democrat-controlled Senate earlier this year confirmed Holder as attorney general.     read more »

Regretfully, things are seldom the way they should, and much less as we
would ideally like them to be. Therefore, if we want to resolve a
problem we have no other choice but facing it head on, even if we have
to pinch sensitive nerves focusing on the taboo issues that invariably annoy our sacred cows and their interests.

Digging into my elephant's memory I recalled the last few months of George Bush Father's campaign
for the Republican nomination. Although he never used this slogan, it
was very popular among his not-so-conservative followers: "We've got to stop Governor Reagan because he's too conservative". Remember?

Let’s suspend reality for a moment, at least the part about the Canadian missile launch, now let’s talk about the two Israelis killed Monday night by Gaza militants (i.e. Terrorist). As Israel continued its third day of aerial assaults, a terrified Israeli woman searched desperately for shelter from one of the countless Hamas missile strikes; the warning siren didn’t sound soon enough to provide her with safety, she would later die, a casualty to shrapnel wounds. When President Bush was put into office nearly eight years ago conservatives were delighted to see the change that was coming to the White House.  Many believed that President Bush would help drive the conservative movement forward to new heights.  At first President Bush appeared to be the one to fulfill this as he took charge of the War on Terror and signed into law a bill that banned partial birth abortions.  So where did he and the Republician Congress go wrong?  read more »
